Completed for The Tate House Museum in Portland, ME, this project consisted of researching, designing and constructing two complete 18th century costume ensembles for a man and a woman. Construction was done primarily by hand, using 18th century sewing methods. The lady’s ensemble featured a complete set of underpinnings (shift, stays, bum roll, and panniers) and a silk robe à l'anglaise.

 

This lady’s 18th century style cap was created for James Madison’s Montpelier Museum.
